I get a round

Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th

We had a lazy day today, sleeping in, reading books etc. A visit to the shops late in the morning was bracketed by a look at the golf club, boat club and bowls club.

These photos show the upstairs view from the balcony next to the office and Guy at work.

Later in the afternoon we visited their neighbour Barry. He wasn't in when we got there but we made ourselves at home till he returned, with his sister who is visiting. Apparently Guy went home once when Barry wasn't there and got told off.

They had put out some seed for the birds and there were parrots of different sizes and colours and later the ducks having a feed.

Guy cooked dinner - marinated chops and ribs that took much longer to prepare than to eat. WE watched some TV after that.

Alene had arranged for me to join in the Ladies golf day on Tuesday and when asked my handicap, replied, Getting there before 8 am. Nonetheless, she dropped me off on time and I played 18 holes. The course is only a 9 holer so we played each one twice.

I started with a 7, (fisrt holem pictired above) then had an 11 on the second, after putting 2 drives through the dogleg and out of bounds then the 3rd into the pond. Lost 3 balls that hole. after that things got better. On the second round I hit irons from both tees and had 3 birdies on those same 2 holes. The course is very short but you need to be straight most holes as there are a lot of opportunities to go out of bounds.

Afterwards theree was sandwiches and cake and one of the ladies dropped me back at the house, since Alene was at the ferry jetty and Guy was putting in retic.
